A confession…

I used to keep myself safe and comfortable by keeping my prices low.

I was so afraid of hearing “NO” from potential clients that I priced my services really low so that getting a client never made any difference to my finances.

But guess what…

“YES” still never arrived until I tried something completely different.

Here’s what I do today instead…

Now I get tons of YES’s from the right people instead of NO’s from the wrong ones.

(Hint: I am no longer afraid to stand up for the value my services provide!)

Most people don’t know I was born in the Ukraine.

In Soviet culture, smiling in public was frowned upon.

So I learned to never smile.

Imagine, the number one hotdog-eating champion in the world can down 25 hotdogs in two minutes, including the bun. And when he was asked what his next goal was, his answer shocked reporters into open-mouthed silence.

You see, he didn’t want to eat 26 hotdogs. He wasn’t interested in simply getting better incrementally. He wanted to eat 50 hotdogs so that beyond any reasonable doubt, he would be the very best at this one thing.

For two days, I couldn’t sleep. I woke up with my heart-racing and my palms sweating until I realized exactly what was holding me back from embracing this super-cool, edge-of-my-seat experience of a lifetime.
